Box Hill Golf Club Celebrates Centenary

The Box Hill Golf Club is celebrating its centenary this year, marking 100 years since its official naming.

If you’ve owned real estate in Box Hill for some time, you may know that the club itself traces its roots back even further than this – all the way back to 1892.

Originally named the Surrey Hills Golf Club, it didn’t pick up its current moniker until local subdivision saw a nine-hole course built on 70 acres of land south of Canterbury Road in 1913. And so the Box Hill Golf Club was born!

Now located at 202 Station Street, this 18-hole club is a favourite with amateurs and professionals alike, regularly holding competitions so that you can pit your skills against fellow golfing enthusiasts.

If you’re looking to buy a family property in Box Hill, you may be encouraged to hear the club even has a ten-week junior program – in which time your children can learn all the basics for becoming a pro.

After a long day on the green, you can sit back in the club’s bistro and restaurant for a bite to eat, or peruse the on-site shop for some new gear to up your game.
